Terrified family woken by naked man attempting break in
A man has been woken in the middle of the night to find a naked man allegedly trying to break into his house.
NDTV reports the father of two was asleep next to his wife in their Washington DC home when his phone woke him up.
It was his home security system telling him someone was outside.
The man pushed a few buttons to check through surveillance footage to find a naked man rattling on the door.
The naked man is seen wandering across the driveway past a parked car.
He then walks around the side the house.
He tries a door handle and when that doesn’t work he peers inside.
He keeps walking and a light flickers on, which police said was part of the security system, and he runs away.
On viewing the footage the homeowner said he, “couldn’t believe it.”
“I thought it was a bad dream,” he said.
Police released the footage on Friday in the hope someone could help identify the naked man.
They say they still don’t know what his intentions were and neither did the homeowner.
"He had some odd behaviour," said the homeowner, who works for a software company.
"It's not quite clear what he was up to."
He said he was concerned the man may have been trying to get into his children’s rooms or could have been a peeping tom.
But he was comforted by one aspect.
“We know he wasn’t armed.”
