Mystery as body found in river

An investigation has been launched after a body was found in the Lane Cove River.

Emergency services were called to the Lane Cove River, West Pymble, at 6.50am on Saturday following reports of a body in the water.

The body is believed to be that of a man aged in his 50s.

A crime scene has been established, and detectives have launched an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with CCTV vision, dashcam footage or information about the incident to contact Chatswood Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
