Murder probe over ‘inconsistent’ injuries

A woman has been arrested as part of a homicide probe into a fatal motorcycle crash in regional Victoria on Tuesday.
The motorcyclist , who is yet to be formally identified, was found injured about 3pm in Yarram — about 170km southwest of Melbourne.

Paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene .

The homicide squad launched an investigation into the crash after injuries were deemed “inconsistent”, a Victoria Police spokesman said.

“Officers were called to Yarram-Morwell Road about 3pm on 16 January after a motorcycle crash,” he said.

“A man was located with injuries, some of which were inconsistent with occurring in a crash.”

On Tuesday night, a 50-year-old woman was arrested after attending a local police station and is assisting detectives.
