Mum shares her genius Kmart hack to avoid common laundry gripe

If you're tired of hanging out the laundry to find socks missing somewhere in the wash, one Queensland mum has come up with a $6 Kmart hack to put an end to odd hosiery.

Townsville woman Megsie Vincent has shared the simple, yet genius, laundry idea that prevented socks from going astray in her household.

The clever mum shared how she affixed a $6 Kmart laundry wash bag to the front of her top loader with Velcro, for her kids and hubby to dump their dirty socks into.

When it comes to laundry time, the busy woman "can rip it off and chuck it in the wash" with the rest of the clothes, she said in a post on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page.

The cheap fix has been backed by hundreds of parents who wished they had thought of it sooner.

The simple idea has attracted hundreds of likes and shares on the page, with members keen to try out the hack for themselves.

"YOU ARE A GENIUS!!" one woman wrote.

"Great idea. It's crazy how many socks and undies we lose," another added.

Another said the idea would be "life changing".

One woman told of a family that had already been taking the laundry bag idea to the next level, with a bag issued to each member of the household.

"They would chuck them in the washing machine and then the bags all went into the drier on gentle and then each bag was delivered to each family member when washed and dried - no more sorting socks," she shared.

Another mum pointed out that the Velcro dots can also be bought from Kmart, to save parents shopping around for supplies to complete the hack.
