Her waters broke suddenly and she ran into the bathroom.

“I was on the phone to triple-zero, I was speaking to a lovely gentleman who was giving me all the guidance on what to do,” Lauren’s husband Richard Minta recalled.

New recruit Matt Panopoulos was dispatched along with fellow paramedic Mia Jardine.

“We could hear a little bit of commotion down the back so we walked out the back and found Lauren on the bathroom floor,” Matt said.

Mia added: “Lauren did all the hard work, obviously, and we’re just there to catch.”

Luckily for Lauren, she didn’t have far to go to get to the bathroom, and the paramedics arrived just 10 minutes later.

Richard said the sound of the doorbell ringing “was probably the greatest sound I’ve ever heard.”

Moments later, little Florence was born.

“Certainly if we ever have another child again, any contractions, we’ll be straight to the hospital,” Richard said.
