Teen, 19, charged with murder of his mother, brother and sister

A teenager has been charged with murdering his mother, sister and half-brother at a home in Perth.

The tragic crime scene has been described by senior homicide officers as the worst they’d ever seen.

Bella Peterson was 15-years-old. Her brother Rua, just eight-years-old, was also killed, along with their mother Michelle.

It’s a tragedy that’s ripped apart a quiet Perth suburb.

“I just never would’ve thought anything like that would happen, especially to a family like that,” friend Aliyah Grey said.

The alleged killer is 19-year-old Teancum Vernon Petersen-Crofts, the victims’ son and brother.

When officers arrived at the scene, mother Michelle, 48, and little Rua were inside the home. Bella was outside, critically hurt, and she couldn’t be saved.

“If I needed someone to go to she’d be like, ‘yeah i’m here for you’, like she’d always be the one that would be there straight up first for you,” friend Shakyra Goodlet said of Bella.

On Sunday, scissors were taken away from the home, which is likely to stay a crime scene for days.

The 19-year-old faced court on Monday. Without a lawyer, he rambled to the magistrate and security guards and was sent for a psychiatric assessment.

Relatives are flying in from around the country as they try to make sense of this unimaginable tragedy.
