Two-year-old 'punched in the head, rammed with trolley' at Kmart

A mum claims her toddler was punched and had a trolley rammed into him at Kmart because he was throwing a tantrum.

The mum wrote on Facebook the incident happened at Kmart in Albany near Auckland on Thursday.

She alleges a woman in her 60s rammed a trolley at her boy “to deliberately hit him” after he threw a tantrum before throwing verbal abuse with “words that shouldn’t be repeated”.

“My son had two large bumps on his head, front and back,” she wrote.

“Though I was in considerable shock, and wasn't quite sure how the front bump got there, I have later found out with the amazing Kmart team reviewing their video footage numerous times that the lady had in fact punched my two-year-old son in the front of the head when my back was turned.”

A New Zealand Police spokeswoman told Yahoo News Australia police had been notified of the incident and were investigating the matter.

Kmart has been contacted for comment.
