Woman fighting for life after bus crash

A woman is fighting for life after a serious crash involving two buses and a car turned a suburban street into chaos.

The crash happened about 4pm on Wednesday on Seventh Ave in Campsie, in western Sydney.

Multiple people were injured in the crash, including a child.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman confirmed paramedics took a woman aged in her 60s to St George Hospital in a critical condition after she suffered internal injuries.

Paramedics also treated a woman aged in her 50s for suspected spinal injuries and took her to Royal Prince Alfred in a serious condition.

Altogether, the spokesman said 12 people had been injured in the crash.

Paramedics took the child to Canterbury Hospital for further treatment.

Paramedics also assessed a further 13 people at the scene.

A NSW Police spokesman said the final number of injuries was still unknown.

“A number of passengers are being assessed and treated by ambulance paramedics, however, the number of people injured isn’t yet known,” police said in a statement from just after 5pm.

Motorists and members of the public are urged to avoid the area.
