Woman 'asked to lift up her shirt for discount by mechanic'

A Missouri woman is “offended” after she says a local auto shop employee sexually harassed her by offering her a discount if she agreed to lift her shirt up for him.

Kintraella Huntley was at a local auto shop on Thursday (local time) to have her car fixed.

She told US news outlet KSDK it had been her giving trouble and releasing smoke.

"They got a mechanic to come and get in the car with me so that he can ride it up and down the street to see what it was doing,” she said.

But Ms Huntley claims he made an “indecent proposal” while they were in the car together.

"He said ‘Look, if you pull up your shirt and show me your breasts, then I will go ahead and knock the price down,’" she told KSDK.

She quickly shot down his offer and called the police as soon as they were back at the store, the news outlet reported.

“I was offended,” she said.

Though the auto shop did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment, the owner of the store told the KSDK the police had been investigating.

But the owner did not believe the allegations were true and said the mechanic did not speak English, and would have been unable to speak with the customer.

But Ms Huntley denied this to KSDK and said while he did have an accent, his message was clear.

"I understood every word he said," Ms Huntley told the St. Louis news station.

"What he pretends in front of them is totally not what he said to me. I totally heard what he said. He told me to lift my shirt and show my body.”

Ms Huntley did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.

But she told KSDK she planned to hire a lawyer and was determined to keep this from happening to another woman.

“It's a shame. When does it stop? When do we get our respect?" she said.

Police did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.
