Missing teen, 15, may be with 47-year-old man who's 'in love with her'
There are fears a missing 15-year-old schoolgirl may have run away with a 47-year-old man who “wanted to marry her”, the teen’s family say.
Domeanna Spell was last seen getting off her school bus at Louisiana, US, about 7am last Thursday, then she got into a car driven by divorced dad Cory ‘Shane’ Disotell, her older sister Jerrie Cradeur believes.
“He was in love with my sister. He wanted to marry her,” she told InsideEdition.com.
Ms Cradeur said another student saw her sister walk across the road from her school and get into a car with a man believed to be Mr Disotell, a family friend.
The schoolgirl hasn’t been seen by her family since, sparking an FBI search to find her.
Teen, divorced dad, in ‘secret relationship’
The man purportedly hired Domeanna to babysit his granddaughter on weekends, but the girl’s family have since learned he had no grandchildren and that he gave her money to make it appear she was babysitting, her sister told the news outlet.
Domeanna’s family had learned six months ago that she and Mr Disotell had a secret relationship.
Her parents forbade the man from ever coming back to their house and ordered their daughter to stay away from him, but they continued a secret relationship, Ms Cradeur revealed.
“Everyone was pretty much hysterical.”
Her little sister “was just in love with all the attention” she allegedly received from the older man, who Ms Cradeur said brainwashed her.
The FBI stepped in to assist the police when the pair disappeared last week.
“Domeanna Spell may have changed her appearance to conceal her identity,” the FBI said in a statement.
