Michelle Bridges pulled over for 'drink-driving' on Australia Day

Television personality and personal trainer Michelle Bridges will face a Sydney court next month after being charged with mid-range drink driving.

Bridges on Sunday morning was pulled over in a Range Rover SUV for a roadside breath test on New South Head Road in Bellevue Hill.

She allegedly returned a positive result and was taken to Waverley Police Station, where she returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.086.

A five-year-old child was allegedly in the vehicle at the time of the test.

The Potts Point-based Bridges was charged with mid-range drink driving and bailed to appear before Waverley Local Court on February 18.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph, she described the incident as a “terrible mistake and an error of judgement”, expressing her “deep regret for breaking the law”.

“This behaviour is inexcusable, and I am absolutely devastated and embarrassed to find myself in this position,” Bridges said.

She added how she recently had been dealing with her split from long-term boyfriend Steve Willis, also known as Commando Steve, but said it was “by no means an excuse for my behaviour”.

Bridges also added she was “extremely sorry” for her actions.

The 49-year-old Bridges was a personal trainer on TV show The Biggest Loser until 2015.

Her website states she is also the author of 16 health books, a magazine columnist and activewear entrepreneur.

Bridges' agent has been contacted for comment.
