Queensland police are investigating after two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds on Easter Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a popular park opposite the Coolum Beach Hotel in southern Noosa about 6pm, after people passing by encountered the injured men.

Both men were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, one in a “critical but stable” condition after suffering a chest wound, the other with non-life threatening injuries.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman on Sunday said three men were assisting police but no charges had yet been made.

“Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have captured footage to come forward,” she said.

The woman who found the men while walking along the footpath told the Sunshine Coast Daily by the time she’d come across the scene “it looked like a fight had already happened”.

“And then he was screaming and yelling and a group of young men, a big crowd, came from the right,” she told the local paper, describing finding the first man.

She said one of the men had gone into cardiac arrest in front of them while waiting for the ambulance.

Locals say there have been issues in the park for some time now, and tend to avoid it at night.
