Message from anti-vaxxers sprayed on Melbourne cafe: 'Awful people'

A Melbourne cafe has been vandalised for enforcing government-mandated vaccine rules, which prohibit unvaccinated patrons from dining in.

Staff at the Blacksheep cafe in South Kingsville arrived at work on Monday morning to find someone had taken to the front of the cafe writing "discrimination is not OK" in bright orange.

The cafe posted a photo of the graffiti on their Instagram page, expressing its disappointment in finding the cafe front vandalised.

“Happy Monday Morning all!” the caption read.

“So this is what we get for following government guidelines and just doing our jobs!

Customers disgusted over graffiti

Under Victoria's health guidelines, unvaccinated customers are not allowed to dine in, and are only permitted to get takeaway from restaurants and cafes.

Customers couldn't believe the state of the cafe, some offering to come and help clean the graffiti off the wall.

“This sucks big time. Can I help with a paint brush?”

"This is such poor behaviour. I’m sorry this happened after getting through the tough slog of lockdown," another wrote.

"What awful people would do this," commented another.

"You’re doing the right thing!! I can’t wait to come dine in and show my vax certificate."

Victoria records 1510 more Covid-19 cases

Victoria announce 1510 more Covid-19 cases and four deaths on Tuesday.

The latest deaths take the toll from the current outbreak to 234.

Seventy-five per cent of the state is now fully vaccinated. Melbourne residents will be able to enter regional Victoria from 6pm Friday, when 80 per cent of Victoria's eligible population are fully vaccinated.

Under the changes, statewide travel will return, outdoor masks are scrapped and indoor entertainment venues, gyms and retail can reopen for fully vaccinated patrons. Capacity limits will increase for restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Premier Daniel Andrews revealed on Sunday changes to Victoria's roadmap will be made when 90 per cent of the population of people aged 12 and over are full vaccinated — including scrapping venue caps — predicted to be around November 24.

However, this would still only be for fully vaccinated people.

"We will retain the vaccinated economy, all those requirements, all those settings, where you only get in if you are double vaccinated," Mr Andrews told reporters.
