Hunt for 'Richmond fan' filmed brutally bashing man after footy final

WARNING – DISTURBING FOOTAGE: A manhunt is underway after two men were brutally beaten in Melbourne’s east following Richmond’s qualifying final win over Hawthorn earlier in the night.

A 61-year-old was punched in the head about 17 times and stomped on, while his 45-year-old friend was also seriously assaulted following a verbal altercation with three men along East Melbourne’s Wellington Parade shortly after midnight on Thursday.

Graphic footage of the incident has now been released with police urging the attackers, one of whom was wearing a Richmond Football Club beanie, to hand themselves in.

The attack was filmed by nearby witnesses, while another man was also filmed assisting the injured pair, and the footage released as police urged the attackers to come forward.
