'I’m willing to go up to High Court': Man who fought to keep sheep in his yard picks new fight with council

A Melbourne man who fought the High Court to keep pet sheep in his backyard is now fighting his local council over parking spaces.

Vu Ho made headlines a few years ago in a bitter battle to keep his sheep Baa.

But now the mechanic has a different row with Dandenong Council.

Mr Ho said car parks on his street currently measure up at 1.8 metres in width, which is short of Australia’s 2.1m standard.

Residents say their cars are being sideswiped.

“I’m willing to go up to High Court,” Mr Ho told 7 News.

“I’m not worried.

“They (council) can’t make my life harder.”

Residents agree the parks are too narrow for their cars with Mr Ho suggesting the council cut into the nature strip to widen them.

His neighbour Jim Kiriakis agreed the size of the space is “ridiculous.”

“I’ve got a driveway there so if there's a car parked there and you're not a good driver you can collect it,” he said.

The council was awarded $200,000 in court costs after its first duel with Mr Ho but the council never collected the money.
