CCTV footage has revealed the chilling moments before a violent home invasion in which a group of seven armed men stormed a home in Sydney’s southwest, before they allegedly “terrorised” a family of four.

Emergency services were called to the home on Mary Wade Place, Carnes Hill at 12.45am on Tuesday, before a 25-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound on his right leg.

Footage showed two cars pulling up to the home, before seven men exited the vehicle, wearing balaclavas.

Police said three of them were allegedly armed with a machete, shotgun and pistol.

Liverpool Commander Superintendent Adam Whyte said initial investigations suggest the attack was a targeted shooting, however he could not confirm whether the incident was gang-related.

Authorities remain on the hunt for the group.

“They’ve entered the home and terrorised the four occupants in that home who were aged between 25 and 51,” he said.

“One of them received a gunshot wound to his right lower leg, but the other persons were involved in scuffles within the home, and we’re working through that as we take statements from those persons.”
