A man has been shot and killed by police in Western Australia after allegedly threatening an officer with a knife.
Officers found the man, who was armed with a knife, early on Sunday in Wannanup, south of Perth, after responding to reports of a man acting suspiciously.
The man allegedly advanced towards an officer, ignoring repeated requests to drop the knife, before police tasered him. When he still failed to stop a firearm was discharged.
The officers administered CPR before the man was rushed to Peel Health campus where he later died.
Homicide squad and Internal Affairs are investigating the incident.
