Man has 'fingers cut off' after he and girlfriend kidnapped from Melbourne home

A man reportedly had three fingers cut off with a knife in a horrifying kidnapping ordeal after being abducted alongside his girlfriend from their Melbourne home in the early hours of the morning.

The 29-year-old man and his 31-year-old partner were thrown in the back of a car and for about an hour driven around Frankston, southeast of the city, after being taken on September 28, Victoria Police said in a statement.

They were reportedly taken to an address on Orwil Street where police allege kidnappers tied the man to a chair and cut three fingers off with a knife, The Herald Sun reported.

His girlfriend managed to escape and ran to a neighbouring home for help about 1.30am, according to police.

Police said the male victim was found by officers inside the home and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two men from Frankston, one aged 37 and another 24, are facing charges of kidnapping, robbery and assault-related offences.

They have both been remanded in custody to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 2.
