Tragic update after 26yo vanishes from club

The body of a young man who went missing after a night at a Sydney club has been found.

About 6pm on Sunday, the 26-year-old man was reported missing to police at Mascot Police Station.

He was last seen at about 3.30am, partying at Barangaroo nightclub, Bungalow8 located on King Street Wharf.

“We can confirm that he was at Bungalow8 on Sunday morning,” a spokesperson for the club said on Monday morning.

“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family and loved ones during this time.”

Police officers, including marine police and a Polair helicopter searched until nightfall on Sunday.

Officers resumed their search on Monday, with police divers due to search the Harbour.

About 12.45pm, the body of a man was located in the water, police said.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the 26-year-old man.

Investigations into the circumstances of his death are ongoing.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
