A man has been killed after the deck of a cattle truck collapsed at a farm in remote central Queensland.

Emergency services were called to the property off Dawson Highway at Bauhinia, southwest of Rockhampton, shortly after 1pm on Thursday.

The man, who has not been formally identified, was treated for critical injuries, but he died at the scene.

Another man, aged in his 50s, was rushed to Rockhampton Hospital by a RACQ CapRescue helicopter in a critical condition.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the man was being treated for serious injuries to his leg and pelvis.

In a statement, Queensland Police told Seven officers had attended the “workplace incident” about 1.30pm.

“Police are assisting Workplace Health and Safety with their investigations,” the statement said.

“No further details are available.”
