A Queensland man will face court after allegedly infected several women he slept with met on dating apps with a serious disease.

It is alleged the 24-year-old from Campwin Beach had sexual relations with several women between November 2022 and July 2023 after meeting them on social media apps.

“It will be alleged he knowingly transmitted a serious disease to women on two occasions,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

The man has been charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm or transmit disease, four counts of contravening a domestic violence offence and two counts of distributing intimate images, which is a domestic violence offence.

The man was arrested in Sarina on Tuesday.

He was due to appear at the Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Queensland police are urging anyone who had similar experiences to come forward as investigations continue.
