Man fighting for his life after being shot in parked car

Two men have been hospitalised with gunshot wounds after someone fired at the pair while they were sitting in a parked car in Sydney's west.

Emergency services were called to Badham Street in Merrylands about 9.30pm on Thursday following reports of a shooting.

Police said one man was in a critical condition and fighting for his life after suffering gunshot wounds in the chest while the other is in a serious but stable condition with wounds to his arm.
