A man has suffered burns to his face and neck after a suspected industrial fire in the Sydney CBD.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Harris St and Mary Ann St shortly before midday on Wednesday.

A man aged in his 40s was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for burns to face, head and neck.

He was transported to the Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.

A second person was also treated at the scene for minor burns.

A NSW Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the fire is believed to have originated from a piece of electrical equipment.
