Man discovers kitten glued to busy road on his way to work

A man claims to have rescued a kitten he found glued to the middle of a road.

Chuck Hawley, of Oregon in the US, was driving on Saturday morning when he noticed a “black thing in the road”.

“It’s going between their tyres so I’m guessing it’s a box,” he wrote on Facebook

“It’s a kitten just sitting upright shaking like a leaf and some a****** had spread glue on its paws and stuck it to the road.”

Mr Hawley thought the cat might have stepped in glue and become stuck, “but after looking at it, that was totally spread into her paws”.

“She was wet and freezing and literally glued to the road and no one stopped,” he wrote.

The Oregon man slammed on the brakes in the middle of traffic and peeled the tiny cat from the roadway.

He’s since taken the kitten into his care, labelling it the “luckiest kitten in the world”.

Mr Hawley took the cat to Silver Creek Animal Clinic where staff were able to clean the glue off, Fox Q13 reported. Puncture wounds were also found on the kitten’s neck but no one is sure how she got them.

The clinic’s Dr Jenny Bate told Fox Q13 she’s disgusted by the find.

“Somebody put that glue there, I don’t know how or why, but yeah, I mean, somebody did that,” Dr Bate said.

The find has been reported to police.

Meanwhile, the kitten has a new home. Mr Hawley said he and his wife had recently spoken about getting a cat.

They’ve also given her a name.

“My wife named her Sticky,” Mr Hawley said.
