General manager for Thredbo Resort, Stuart Diver, said the resort was saddened by the death.

“Thredbo is deeply saddened by the passing of an adult male whilst skiing at Thredbo Resort today,” Mr Diver said in a statement to Yahoo News Australia.

“Thredbo Ski Patrol and a Thredbo Medical Centre Doctor promptly attended the scene.

“The Thredbo community extends its heartfelt condolences to the male’s family and friends.”

According to the resort’s weather report for August 10, winds were moderate to strong, which moved the snow around and reduced visibility on the mountain.

Thredbo reportedly had 120cm of snow on August 10.
