Mr Guaresi’s wife witnessed the crash from her vehicle travelling behind, as her husband was flung through the windscreen on impact, The Courier Mail reported.

Senior Sergeant David Tierney told the publication police believe Mr Guaresi failed to stop at a stop sign before colliding with the rear end of the truck.

The truck driver suffered only minor injuries in the collision, Queensland Ambulance told Yahoo News Australia.
