A man has died after being pulled from a fire that tore through a house in north London.

Around 40 firefighters in six fire engines were scrambled to the blaze at a semi-detached home in Colin Park Road, Colindale, shortly after 10pm on Saturday.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said both the ground floor of the property and an outbuilding were “completely destroyed” by the fire.

“Firefighters rescued a man from inside the property, but he was sadly later pronounced dead at the scene,” said an LFB spokesperson.

The fire was under control by around 11.20pm.

It is now under investigation by LFB and Scotland Yard.
