Man decides to slide down middle of escalator and fails

Transport bosses have condemned a prank where a man was filmed sliding down the middle barrier between two moving escalators at a London tube station, and then falling off at speed.

David Bailey was out with a group of friends at Angel Tube Station in north London when one of his friends decided it would be a good idea to try out the stunt.

The 30-year-old daredevil, wearing a pink shirt, ignored the warning signs and went for it while the group of revellers looked on in shock.

With a beer in hand the man manages to dodge one of the warning signs but as he slides further he is knocked back onto the escalator by another warning sign designed to stop people sliding down it.

He landed backside first onto the sharp metal stairs of the escalator, apparently uninjured and unfazed by his antics.

The man's friends exploded into uncontrollable laughter after they saw him fly off the slide.

Daily Express reports Mark Evers from Transport for London authorities said such pranks "are dangerous for not only those involved but also to other customers".

Mr Bailey told the newspaper" "We were shocked, he just saw it and thought why not."

"There was a bit of blood and some cuts and bruises but he's fine.”

Mr Bailey added the caption to the video: "How not to use an escalator!! (excuse my laugh)".

Escalators can be very dangerous and stunts should not be performed near or on them.
