Man charged over cold case sex attack after $500,000 reward offered

A man has been charged over a cold case sexual assault in Melbourne’s north five years ago.

On June 30, 2013 the 22-year-old victim, known as Chloe, was walking home from her first night out after having a baby when she was stalked and dragged into a laneway before being brutally attacked.

She was repeatedly punched, kicked and sexually assaulted in what Victoria Police said was one of the worst attacks they had seen.

On Wednesday, a 34-year-old Reservoir man was arrested and charged with one count of rape and one count of intentionally causing serious injury.

The arrest comes just days after Chloe made a public plea to find her attacker and a $500,000 reward was offered.
