A homicide investigation is under way after a man’s body was found near a petrol station in the early hours of Friday morning.

About 3.40am, St John WA contacted police to report they were responding to a report of an unresponsive man in an area south of Perth, on Bailey Boulevard in Dawesville, near the coastal town of Mandurah.

St John WA took a man aged in his 40s to the Peel Health Campus by ambulance at 4.14am, but he could not be revived.

Mandurah detectives and the homicide squad are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
