A Texas man has been arrested for allegedly choking a woman and biting off a portion of her nose during a dispute over her decision to work at a gentleman's club, according to authorities.

David Morin Jr., 34, allegedly attacked the woman in July in Bexar County, according to police records reviewed by PEOPLE.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, on July 24, 2023, at about 1 a.m., after the victim did not answer his phone calls, Morin allegedly broke into her house by smashing a glass window.

He then discovered some “employment documents” belonging to the 31-year-old woman, authorities allege.

He allegedly got into an argument with her regarding her work at a gentlemen's club and choked her for nearly 10 seconds, the affidavit states. After he released her and she tried to escape, he allegedly attacked her again and bit her nose, tearing off a portion of it, the affidavit alleges.

As the woman began bleeding, he allegedly ran off, the affidavit states.

The woman then got medical help and has been recommended for plastic surgery by doctors.

Last Friday, six months after the incident, San Antonio Police Department officers arrested Morin following a traffic stop, the department confirms with PEOPLE.

He has been charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily harm and deformity, according to the affidavit and online court records.

No plea information was immediately available.

In 2019, Morin was charged with an alleged assault on the same woman, who was five months pregnant at the time, according to the affidavit from that incident. According to that affidavit, Morin was accused of brutally assaulting the woman, who claimed Morin did not approve of her working, dressing up, or socializing.

Court records show that charge has since been dismissed.

The SAPD tells PEOPLE that at the time of his arrest last week, Morino had three active warrants.

An attorney listed for Morin in court records did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for further information. His bond has been set at $75,000, per court records.
