Man accused of torturing baby girl
A man has been charged with assaulting and torturing a baby girl, allegedly leaving her with serious head injuries.
It comes five months after a then two-and-a-half-month-old girl was taken to Logan Hospital with serious head injuries on June 18 this year.
Police will allege the baby was assaulted and tortured in the Logan suburb of Marsden before she was taken to the hospital.
Extensive investigations by Logan District Child Protection and Investigation Unit detectives led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man on Thursday.
He was charged torture, grievous bodily harm and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
The man is expected to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday.
