Lotto winner's hilarious demand after meagre scratch-it win

A man who won $1 from a scratch-it ticket has demanded to be treated as a big winner and be paid out with giant novelty cheque.

Tyler Heep, from Iowa in the US, rustled up some change from his car last week to buy some scratch-it lottery tickets.

Among them was a winner, with the man scratching off a $1.39 (US$1) prize.

Rather than claiming the prize from the place of purchase, or using the dollar towards another ticket, the man drove all the way down to Iowa Lottery headquarters and insisted he be given the winning treatment.

The small-time winner was amazed Iowa Lottery agreed to meet his request to treat him like a big winner, and paid him out with a massive novelty cheque, with “Stinking Rich” written at the bottom of the cheque.

“They decided to treat me just like a million dollar winner,” the man told NBC 13 News.

“The guy came down the stairs and they took me into the back room where the camera was with the Iowa Lottery logo.

“Sure enough they wrote me the one dollar cheque and had me hold it up and took the picture,” Mr Heep said.

The small-time win is a stark contrast to the Sydney mother who won the entire $100 million Powerball prize, who says she won’t give up work.
