Liz Hurley's son Damian recreates her safety pin dress
Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian has paid homage to his mother’s iconic Versace safety pin dress.
The 17-year-old was photographed at an event at Selfridges department store in London and raised eyebrows with a familiar theme.
His wore head-to-toe Versace including loafers and a sleek black suit decorated with a series of gold pins which at once again drew attention to those enduring Hurley genes.
It was a look reminiscent of a dress his mother, Liz, wore on the red carpet to attend the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ on the arm of then-boyfriend Hugh Grant in 1994.
The daring dress, with its thigh high slit, cut-away panels and safety pin detail, propelled Liz, then a little-known model, to overnight fame.
Damian’s homage to Liz’s 1994 look wasn’t lost on his 38,100 Instagram followers, with whom he shared a series of photographs.
One wrote, “Love it ..... your take on mum’s frock,” while another commented, “Same as your mum’s famous dress (sic)!”
Earlier this year, Liz herself paid homage to the safety pin dress, wearing a lookalike version of the gown on the front of Harper’s Bazaar April 2019 edition.
Like mother like son
Damian and Liz share the same chiselled bone structure, piercing green eyes and long, thick brunette locks.
This isn’t the first time Damian, Liz’s son from a relationship with American businessman and film producer Steve Bing, has turned heads.
His glamorous looks first gained attention earlier this month when the 17-year-old made his modelling debut in a makeup campaign for celebrity artist Pat McGrath’s brand, Pat McGrath Labs.
