Bruce Lehrmann's lawyer has told a court her client is “arguably one of the most hated men in Australia”.

It comes after his former landlord Gaenor Meakes alleges the former political staffer caused more than $13,200 in damages to the Balgowlah property rented for him by Seven, who picked up the $100,000 bill.

She also claims she is owed $6000 in missed rental payments because Mr Lehrmann moved out of the luxury three-bedroom rental three weeks before the end of the lease.

The property owner has launched proceedings against her former tenant in a bid to recoup the cost of the alleged property damage and unpaid rent.

On Thursday, Mr Lehrmann’s lawyer Zali Burrows told the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal her client “basically learned about these proceedings through the media”.

She asked the court for permission to represent Mr Lehrmann in the tribunal – which normally requires people to represent themselves – because of the media attention.

Woolworths has introduced a limit on how the amount of eggs a customer can buy as two separate bird flu outbreaks impact supplies.

A Woolworths spokeswoman said a two-pack purchase limit had been introduced in NSW, the ACT and Victoria to manage stock delays, stressing it will be "short term".

It follows Coles introducing a similar policy weeks ago.

A man has been arrested after a woman's body was found inside a Sydney home this morning.

Police attended a Russell Lea home shortly after 11am after reports of a domestic incident and found a woman's body at the address.

She is believed to be in her 50s and has yet to be formally identified. A 42-year-old man known to the woman was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with inquiries.

And we can now confirm Bruce Lehrmann has been ordered to pay the $2 million sought by Network 10.

The network's overall legal expenses for defending the case amounted to almost $3.7 million but after Justice Lee found the network had failed in one of its key defences and the firm also lost out in a number of preliminary legal bids, the amount payable by Lehrmann was reduced to approximately $3.1 million.

Network 10 agreed to bill Lehrmann for a flat rate of $2 million after a hefty discount was applied, the network's barrister Zoe Graus said on Thursday.

While Lehrmann did not consent to or oppose the order, his lawyer Paul Svilans told the court he did not know enough about how Network 10's lawyers had been paid to know whether the discounted amount was realistic.

"It might be the deal of the century, the $2 million, for all I know," he told the court.

Network 10 is seeking $2m from Bruce Lehrmann following his bruising defamation suit loss.

Mr Lehrmann was dealt a devastating blow in April when Justice Michael Lee found he had, on the balance of probabilities, raped Brittany Higgins at Parliament House in March 2019.

The judge dismissed Mr Lehrmann’s claim he had been defamed by a 2021 interview between Ms Higgins and journalist Lisa Wilkinson on The Project in which Ms Higgins alleged she was raped by a colleague after a night out.

Justice Lee found it was more likely than not that Mr Lehrmann was “hellbent on having sex” with Ms Higgins and that “he did not care one way or another whether (she) understood or agreed to what was going on”.

The parties returned to the Federal Court on Thursday to argue about the legal bills accrued during the proceedings and the manner in which they will be paid.

Ten’s barrister Zoe Graus on Thursday told the court that the broadcaster was seeking a lump-sum payment against Mr Lehrmann.

Ms Graus told the court that Network 10 was seeking $2m from the former political staffer.

The search for British teen Jay Slater has entered a tenth day on the Spanish island of Tenerife, with a local mayor making a huge claim about the 19-year-old.

Emilio Jose Navarro told media there has been several unconfirmed sightings of Slater watching the Euro 2024 soccer tournament on the island following his disappearance.

He says police have spoken to those who have made the claims.

His disappearance continues to fuel a slew of conspiracies online, with the UK and millions around the world gripped by the case. Slater disappeared after attending a music festival, before reportedly ending up at an Airbnb 40km north of his accomodation.

That's the huge four-worded message Julian Assange delivered to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese after his government facilitated his release from prison.

Speaking to media shortly after Assange's arrival in Canberra, his lawyer Jennifer Robinson said didn't think the remark was "an exaggeration".

Albanese said his release, and first taste of freedom after nearly 15 years, was the "culmination of careful, patient and determined advocacy".
