James and his family foundation opened the I PROMISE School in Akron, Ohio, two years ago to give inner city kids a strong foundation inside and outside of school.
“I didn’t get a chance to see them, but my mom sent me a clip after the game,” James said, via USA Today Sports. “That was pretty cool.”
The group watched the game from the I PROMISE Village. The students in the school were in grades 3-6 and were joined by school staff. The students in the higher school program are in grades 7-12.

There were also some of James’ advisory board members and 10 of the “330 Ambassadors” who attended virtually. The ambassadors are Akron city high school students who mentor the I PROMISE students.
More than 300 fans appear virtually on the videoboard for each game.
