Kmart recalls children's toy over choking fears

Kmart has recalled a children’s toy over fears toddlers could choke on loose screws.

The Anko Wooden Shape Sorting House for children up to and including three-years-old is being recalled because the screws in the handle of the box could become loose and fall out if dropped.

The toy was sold nationwide between January 14 and February 15 this year.

Customers are urged to stop using the product immediately and return it to any Kmart store for a full refund.

It comes just days after Target recalled a popular children’s tricycle over safety fears.

The nationwide recall includes 21 models of tricycles sold in its city and country stores over an 11-year period.

The recall comes after an investigation by the ACCC, which found that the design – which features long handles at the back reminiscent of a stroller – does not meet the safety standards of a certified stroller.
