Kerry Katona’s ex-husband, George Kay, has reportedly died of a suspected drug overdose.

Kay is the father of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! UK 2004 winner and Brian McFadden’s ex-wife, Kerry Katona’s, younger daughter Dylan-Jorge, aged five.

He was found collapsed at home on July 6th and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to The Daily Mirror.

The 39-year-old had been separated from Kerry since 2015. The pair divorced in 2017.

A close family friend of Kerry’s told the newspaper: “Kerry was told this afternoon that George suffered an overdose and was taken to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

“Kerry is heartbroken, he’s DJ’s dad and she loved him once.

“She can’t bear the thought of explaining to her daughter what has happened.”

Kerry first met Kay when they were teenagers but they lost touch. She reconnected with the former rugby league player Kay in 2012 and gave birth to their daughter in April 2014. They were married in September that year.

38-year-old Kerry, who is now dating fitness instructor Ryan Mahoney, was married twice before and has four other children.

She is mother to daughters, Molly, 17, and Lilly-Sue, 16, by first husband, Westlife’s Brian McFadden, a daughter Heidi, 12, and 11-year-old son Max by second husband Mark Croft.

Kerry daughter, Molly, hit back at hurtful claims that her mother has “blood on her hands” over George’s death.

Campaign group Fathers4Justice heaped insult onto the devastating time for the family with a tweet accusing Katona of being responsible for her ex’s death by allegedly not allowing him access to his daughter.

“Tragic news about the passing of George Kay who came to Fathers4Justice for help. He was heartbroken after @KerryKatona7 denied him access to daughter Dylan-Jorge. Katona’s not ‘heartbroken’. She has blood on her hands.” the group tweeted.

Former Atomic Kitten star Katona’s family were disgusted by the accusation, and her eldest daughter Molly, 17, jumped to her defence.

She replied: “I suggest take this tweet down, how dare you make statements this disgusting at such a vulnerable time, your accusations are inaccurate and extremely insensitive. I truly hope you never find yourself in this kind of situation.”
