Jordan North is set to host a new BBC fitness reality contest that sees the likes of Ashley Cain and Nile Wilson help a directionless group of trainees turn their lives around.

Go Hard Or Go Home matches eight fitness pros with eight trainees who feel lost in life, as they attempt a series of epic challenges designed to push their minds and bodies to the limit.

Each fitness pro, or warrior, has their own personal story of how fitness has helped them to overcome challenges in their own lives, and will give a trainee the benefit of their experience as they try to make it to the end of the contest set on an island.

They'll have 28 days to work on their strength, but as the tasks get harder each time, not every pair will make it to the end on the island of tough love.

Former pro footballer and endurance athlete Cain turned to fitness challenges to pull him through personal tragedy when he lost his baby daughter, Azaylia, to leukaemia in 2021 and has since taken part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Viewers might remember show host North struggling with challenges during his time on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, but he went on to complete a rowing challenge from London to Burnley for Comic Relief.

North will be joined by Paul Olima as the coach in charge of the series.

Other warriors taking part include athlete Adele Nicoll, ex rugby player Heather Fisher, MMA fighter Leah McCourt, Muay Thai fighter Nesrine Dally, celebrity personal trainer Tyrone Brennand, and Equinox lead fitness instructor Waz Ashayer.

The show will also be accompanied by a BBC Sounds podcast hosted by Olima called Be More Warrior.

Go Hard Or Go Home begins on Sunday, 19 February on BBC Three.
