Paramedics called after Jetstar flight crew detect 'unusual smell' on plane

Paramedics have assessed three Jetstar crew members at the Gold Coast Airport after staff reported an “unusual smell” onboard an aircraft from Sydney on Wednesday night.

The airline staff “detected an unusual smell in part of the cabin” shortly before landing, and felt unwell, a Jetstar spokesman told Yahoo News Australia.

As a result, the captain asked a paramedic to meet the aircraft on arrival at the Gold Coast “as a precaution”, he said.

One passenger described arriving at the airport with four waiting fire rescue crews, in a Facebook post.

The three Jetstar workers were checked by a doctor as a precaution, then sent home, the spokesperson confirmed.

The plane “landed normally” and was cleared by engineers, with no issues found.

An Australian Federal Police spokesman confirmed to Yahoo News Australia that crews did not attend the incident.
