Jealous mum, 20, jailed for running over pregnant love rival

A woman has been jailed for running over her partner's lover after discovering she was pregnant with his child.

Alexis Glass, 20, pinned Chantay Dunlavy — who was 36 weeks pregnant at the time — against a wall in her car in Isleworth, west London, on September 10, 2021.

Ms Glass, who had given birth just two months earlier, mounted the pavement in her vehicle and ran into Ms Dunlavy.

Both women's children share the same father, known as Jayden, the Daily Mail reports.

Alexis Glass 'deliberately' drove her vehicle into Chantay Dunlav

Ms Glass has pleaded guilty to cruelty to a child, dangerous driving, malicious communication and grievous bodily harm with intent.

She was sentenced to three years in a young offenders institution and banned from driving for 30 months.

Prosecutor David Markham told the court Ms Glass "deliberately drove her vehicle" toward Ms Dunlavy while her "own child was in the vehicle in an unsecure baby seat".

He said the pair had exchanged hostile text messages the day before in the incident.

In the messages, which were read to the court, Ms Glass reportedly threatened to kill Ms Dunlavy, telling her she would be happy if her baby died during labour, the publication reports.

Court heard Glass mounted the pavement in her car

Ms Dunlavy and her mum went to Ms Glass' home the day after the fiery text exchange to "resolve" the situation, but the two women almost immediately began arguing.

The court was told Ms Glass then got into her car, saying: "You've come to my house, I'm going to kill you. This is self defence".

CCTV footage showed Ms Glass driving toward Ms Dunlavy and her mum, who had moved to an area behind some bollards, before mounting the pavement and pinning Ms Dunlavy against a wall.

Ms Dunlavy's mother jumped on the bonnet while Ms Glass reversed and sped off.

Ms Dunlavy's right leg was crushed and she spent three weeks in hospital. Although her baby was uninjured, Mr Markham told the court she was "overwhelmed with sadness and fear about losing her baby" in the final weeks of her pregnancy.

The court heard that Ms Glass' son is now in foster care with it is unlikely she will be given primary care of him when she is released.

Ms Glass is prevented from contacting Ms Dunlavy or her mum for five years.
