NSW Police are investigating whether a possible love triangle was a factor in a horrific double homicide in Sydney’s southern suburbs.

An ex-lover, who is also a police officer, has been charged with the murder of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies following investigations into the suspicious disappearance of the couple.

Beau Lamarre handed himself in at Bondi Police station about 10.30am on Friday and has since been charged with two counts of murder.

Authorities were first alerted to the pair’s disappearance after their belongings were located in a skip bin on Wilbar Ave in Cronulla about 11am on Wednesday.

Following the discovery, NSW Police officers visited Mr Baird’s home on Brown St in Paddington about 1pm, where a crime scene was immediately established upon the discovery of large amounts of blood and upturned furniture.

Police also uncovered a fire cartilage case and a projectile that been discharged.

Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty alleged the firearm and the projectile had been matched to Mr Lamarre’s police issued gun.

The bodies have not been located.

Here’s what we know about the three men and their movements in the past five days.

Beau Lamarre

Mr Lamarre is a 28-year-old senior constable with NSW Police. He previously dated Mr Baird.

Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said on Friday that the end of their relationship a couple of months ago was “a line of inquiry” police were continuing to pursue.

Since the couple’s disappearance, their family and friends have disclosed allegations of “some worrying behaviours” in the previous relationship, Mr Doherty said.

Prior to beginning his career as an officer, Mr Lamarre was a celebrity blogger.

His social media accounts showcase selfies snapped with celebrities including Selena Gomez, Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus.

The alleged killer reportedly ran a celebrity website called the Australian Reporter which has been deregistered since 2016.

He reportedly had multiple interviews with high-profile celebrities including Ben Stiller, Cody Simpson, Russell Crowe and Chris Hemsworth.

NSW Police will allege Mr Lamarre used his work gun to murder the couple at Mr Baird’s Paddington home some time between 12.30am and 5.30pm on Monday.

It is alleged Mr Lamarre then used a rented white van, a Toyota HiAce, to transport and dispose of their bodies.

The vehicle with the NSW registration CW82PM was located on Friday afternoon in Grays Point, in Sydney’s south.

Police confirmed Mr Lamarre was rostered on to work on Tuesday but allegedly called in sick and failed to appear for work on Wednesday — the same day police were first alerted to the disappearance of Mr Baird and Mr Davies.

Mr Lamarre’s gun was checked back into a suburban police station on Tuesday.

He appeared before Waverly Local Court on Friday afternoon. The case was adjourned to April 23.

Jesse Baird

Mr Baird, 26, was a former Channel 10 presenter and the ex-partner of his alleged killer.

“Since this inquiry has come along and those investigations were made with family and friends, and it has been well documented that there were some worrying behaviours that have been alleged by family and friends but that was never reported to police,” Mr Doherty told reporters on Friday.

Mr Baird previously worked as a red carpet reporter for Studio Ten until late last year and had been dating Mr Davies for some time before he was allegedly killed inside his Paddington home.

Mr Baird and Mr Davies often shared loved up photos on their social media accounts, with Mr Baird’s most recent post to Instagram showing a series of images of himself and Mr Davies enjoying pop star Pink’s Summer Carnival concert.

Tributes have continued to flow since the reporter’s death, with his colleagues taking to social media to remember Mr Baird.

Ten News First national affairs editor Hugh Riminton took to X to remember his “beloved young colleague”.

“RIP my beloved young colleague, Jesse ... condolences also to the family and friends of Luke Davies. Many tears tonight,” he wrote.

In a post to X, fellow colleague of Mr Baird’s Lachlan Kennedy looked to the words of a country song in his tribute.

“His talent was undeniable and energy infectious. Jesse Baird has had the brightest of futures stolen from him,” Mr Kennedy wrote.

“For years we chatted footy, utes and country music, so because I can’t find the words right now, I’ll let Cody sing it.”

Luke Davies

Mr Davies was a 29-year-old Qantas flight attendant, who lived in Waterloo.

It is understood he dated Mr Baird for several months before he was allegedly murdered by his partners ex-lover on Monday evening.

Mr Davies recently returned to Australia after spending time in Canada and his social media accounts reveal his love for travelling.

The flight attendant shared images of himself in Tokyo, Lisbon, Italy, Singapore and Samoa just months before he was allegedly killed by Mr Lamarre.

It is understood Mr Davies and his partner were last seen by friends at a mardi gras party at the Beresford Hotel in Surry Hills on Sunday evening.

Mr Davies reportedly grew up in Brisbane and only moved to Sydney in November last year.

A friend told News.com.au the couple had only been dating for a “few months at most”.

“I spoke to Luke just before he moved from Brisbane to Sydney with work a few months ago,” she said.

“He was so excited for his next chapter and flying long haul. He’s such a lovely and charismatic person.”

Long-time friend of Mr Davies, Tomas Milan, said Mr Davies’ friends back in Brisbane were shaken by the news.

“Luke has a lot of friends and is very fun, social person. He is a kind and generous boy,” he said.

“He seemed to love his new job. All of his Brisbane friends are in utter shock to only find this out today.”
