'Own up': Heartbroken family's hunt for answers over man's 'cowardly' murder

The family of Jason De Ieso, who was shot dead at his Adelaide business nearly seven years ago, has filmed an emotional plea to anyone with information about his murder.

South Australian police have arrested five men and one woman over the 33-year-old's murder, which is believed to be linked to a dispute between outlaw bikie gangs the Finks and the Hells Angels.

All people arrested, police allege, were either members or associates of the Hells Angels North Crew at the time of the shooting.

Detectives hope to make three more arrests as a total of nine offenders were believed to be involved in the killing.

Investigators have stressed Mr De Ieso was not affiliated with any outlaw gang and was "an innocent bystander, caught up in the tensions".

Mr De Ieso's mother Giovanna also urged anyone with information about her son’s killer to “own up, come forward because Jason didn’t deserve to be killed”.

"It's always with us, it never goes away and I don't know why we have to go through this... I just don't understand why they did it," she said in a video released by SA Police.

Mr De Ieso, who loved to fish and was a keen athlete in his younger years, finished school early to pursue his passion for cars by working as a panel beater.

"I got upset because I said, 'Finish the school, don't worry about the car' (sic)," his father, Sam, said.

After taking up an apprenticeship, Mr De Ieso opened his own panel beating business in Adelaide's north, where he was shot dead on November 21, 2012.

His brother, Dino, also spoke in the video, calling the murder a "cowardly and brutal act".

"In a person's workplace of all places, which is absolutely disgusting," he said.

"Nine offenders... there's people out there that know something, that know who they are, they don't deserve to be on the streets."
