Take a holiday from booking hassle

Increasing numbers of people are turning to the internet to book their holidays, but it is not always an enjoyable experience.

With a growing range of options to choose from, they have been given ratings for their ease of use

It is estimated around seven out of 10 people seeking accommodation use online agencies, but if you have ever wondered which sites offer the biggest range, the best deals and service, now you have it.

A new survey rates the eight top hotel booking websites and customers verdicts.

Simon Downes, from Canstar, said: “This is a survey of 1300 consumers and we asked them to rate their accommodation website of choice for things like value, their service and the range of accomodations on offer, the ease of site navigation and of course for overall satisfaction as well.”

One out of three customers in the survey said ease of navigation and booking are of prime importance when rating accommodation websites.

Mr Downes added: We know that the ability to click your mouse twice to move onto another website obviously makes first impressions absolutely crucial and booking.com have won in previous surveys.

“The site is very easy to use and there's a very wide range of accommodation and prices.”

More than 90 per cent of people in the survey find on-line accommodation sites easy to use and accurate.

But they are making consumers more price conscious and most say after they find a good offer online, they check directly with the hotel to see how the price compares.
