Influencer mocked for 'crazy' live fish stunt at beach

It's certainly not the worst thing you can do with a live fish, but one popular social media influencer has shocked viewers by eating a live fish on camera – with its tail still wriggling as he takes a bite in the ocean.

Gianpiero Fusco has over one million followers on TikTok and Instagram, where he shares his workouts, fitness routines, and what he consumes in a day.

But a recent video has left social media users shocked, as the content creator can be seen eating what appears to be a live fish in its natural habitat.

In the video, Gianpiero holds onto the fish and bites straight into its flesh, tearing it apart with his teeth.

In the caption of the clip which has racked up millions of views, he declared the bizarre moment a "SUCCESSFUL HUNT", describing the "fresh delicacy" as divine.

However many viewers were not so sure, with some questioning the wisdom of such a stunt.

"Does that not have bacteria and diseases?" one person wondered in the comments.

"When I go crazy, I won't say anything, but there will be signs," another joked.

"Salmonella hello," chimed another.

The fitness influencer is no stranger to eating unusual "delicacies". In another clip, which has amassed nearly 3 million views, Gianpiero can be seen holding up what he claims are horse testicles.

The social media star, from Venezuela, then "skins" the balls and chows down on the raw meat.

The influencer has also shared videos of himself eating raw steak, sheep brains, and more freshly caught fish.

Raw or undercooked fish can harbour the most common food-poisoning bacteria salmonella. Although fish is less likely to cause a salmonella infection than other foods such as chicken or beef, it still may carry the very harmful bacteria.
