Influencer arrested for 'shooting man dead' days after pregnancy announcement

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting a man dead during a brawl at a bar, days after announcing her pregnancy on social media.

Influencer Nayeli Díaz, also known as Nayeli Madrigal, has been accused of starting the bar fight with an unnamed man before allegedly fleeing in a white van.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the man unresponsive inside a car with four gunshot wounds. Paramedics were called to the scene and confirmed his death.

Eyewitnesses allegedly told local police in Mexico City, Mexico that the person who had fired the shots was a woman which police believe to be Diaz.

Brawl comes days after pregnancy announcement

Díaz, who revealed her pregnancy on social media earlier this month, remains in custody after her arrest on 9 September while police investigate.

The 23-year-old reportedly once to her 11,000 TikTok followers about her conjugal visit to her jailbird boyfriend in December 2021. She captioned images of the Mexican capital’s Reclusorio Sur prison: "When you're going to spend Christmas with your boyfriend."

She also once shared a snap of herself posing with a gleaming white BMW, which she captioned: "I’m achieving it at 22 years old."

When announcing her pregnancy on September 6, Diaz said, "I don’t know if I’ve done the right thing by bringing you into this crazy world.

"I want to believe I have and that I’ll know how to protect you.

"I eagerly await you, my little one; I’ll take care of you above all else. We love you so much.”
