Images of seven men after Wakeley riot
Police have released images of seven men following the riot that occurred outside a Wakeley church last week.
Strike Force Dribs was established to investigate the violent incidents outside Christ The Good Shepherd Church on April 15 following the alleged stabbing of 53-year-old bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel.
Earlier on Wednesday, a 52-year old man and a 31-year-old man attended the Fairfield Police Station and were placed under arrest.
The 52-year-old man was charged with rioting, and assaulting a police officer during a public disorder, no aggravated bodily harm.
The 31-year-old man was charged with rioting and throwing a missile at a police officer at a public disorder, no aggravated bodily harm.
Both were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
To date, seven men have been charged over their alleged involvement in the incident and remain before the courts.
Strike Force Dribs commander superintendent Andrew Evans said while there were a large number of people involved in the violent incident, these seven new individuals were being targeted by detectives due to the violent and aggressive nature of their alleged actions.
“We are doing everything we can to identify these men and are now appealing for public assistance,” he said.
“Someone in the community knows who they are.”
As investigations continue, detectives have released images of seven men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The first man (Person A) depicted is described as being of caucasian appearance, medium build, with a tattoo of Jesus Christ on his stomach and a full tattoo sleeve on his left arm.
He is shown wearing black jeans that cut off at the ankle, black belt, dark coloured shoes and a black shirt wrapped around his face.
The second man (Person B) is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, with receding dark brown hair and a beard.
He is shown wearing a black jumper, grey pants, black shoes and carrying a grey shoulder bag.
The third man (Person C) is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, with short black hair and beard.
He is shown wearing a grey V neck shirt, dark jeans and white shoes.
The fourth man (Person D) is described as being of medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, grey shorts, black socks and white shoes.
The fifth man (Person E) is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, muscular build, tan complexion, with a dark coloured beard.
He is shown wearing a Nike hat, black singlet, grey cargo pants and white shoes.
The sixth man (Person H) is shown wearing a T-shirt and carrying a fire extinguisher.
The seventh man (Person K) is described as having his hair in braids and having a dark beard.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper, tracksuit pants and socks with slides.
As investigations continue, anyone who can identify the men or provide any information that may assist is urged to contact Fairfield Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
