Woman fights for life after uni stabbing
A student is fighting for life and another is in hospital after a horror stabbing at an Australian university.
Police and paramedics were called to the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra at 2:45pm on Monday after reports of a stabbing.
Two female 20-year-old students were transported to hospital, one in a critical condition and the other one stable, after the incident.
A 34-year-old man was also assaulted and received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
A 24-year-old man is in custody over the incident and police are not looking for anyone else in connection to it.
He has not been charged.
“No specific motive for the incident has been identified,” ACT Police said in a statement.
ANU are urging students to stay away from Fellows Oval and Chiefly Meadow which are “active scenes of investigation”.
The university also encourages anyone who may have witnessed the event who has not already spoken to ACT Police to attend a police station to assist the investigation.

“We are reminding everyone that support services are available to help anyone in the ANU Community,” the spokesperson said.
