Horror crash kills two, man fighting for life

Two people have been killed in a horrific crash between a motorcycle and a car, with a third person fighting for their life.

Police responded to reports of the serious collision at the intersection of Hume Highway and Worth St in Greenacre, in Sydney’s west, at about 7.55pm on Tuesday night, where they found a dark blue Toyota Corolla flipped on its back, and debris strewn around the scene.

10 ambulance vehicles responded to the crash, including two aeromedical teams, two duty managers, two intensive care paramedic cars and four general duty cars.

The 26-year-old male motorcycle rider and the pillion passenger, a 24-year-old woman, both died at the scene.

Both are yet to be formally identified.

The 25-year-old driver was also treated for serious injuries and rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Initial investigations suggest the motorcycle was travelling as part of a convoy, and a crime scene has been established at the intersection.

Specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit will continue investigating the circumstances of the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
