Horrified couple’s The Godfather moment
A horrified couple have found a severed horse’s head dumped on their doorstep in scenes straight out of The Godfather.
The couple from Murray Bridge, about an hour’s drive from Adelaide, called the police after making the gruesome discovery on Sunday night.
Disturbing images show the blood-spattered entrance to a home on Carsten Drive, just a few hundred metres from the Murray River.
“Murray Bridge police are investigating after an animal head was found at a Murray Bridge address last night, Sunday 28 August,” a statement from police read.
“Police have yet to locate the outstanding remains of the animal. Investigations are continuing.”
The crime is eerily similar to an infamous scene from the 1972 movie starring Marlon Brando.
The incident provoked some shocked reactions on social media.
“That is wicked. No matter what, no one should be subjected to such horror,” said one commenter.
“You can be angry at someone sure but that’s just sick,” said another.
